Semi Finals

First match up in the semis had two south Texas blown beasts going at it with Hickle and Brandt. Brandt was first off the line with a .041 RT to Hickle’s .091. Brandt’s mount again gave up the drive well before half-track, posting a 5.46/81.49 while Hickle powered through with a 4.28/154.32, popping the burst panel again as he did in qualifying.

Chris Domino

The second pair had number one in points, Chris Domino, and number three Eric Clark. Clark gained the slightest edge at the green putting .003 in the bank  and carrying it to the finish line with a strong 4.22/176.82 to take the win over a close 4.27/176.06 by Domino in the Pontiac. Clark secured Top Speed of the meet honors with the 176.82 lap.

The final had blower racecar fans excited as two of the Texas Automatic Outlaws best and more consistent runners squared off for the money. In the bright South Texas sun E.J. Hickle got a three-hundredths advantage at the green with a .064 reaction time to Clark’s .097. However, Clark made up the difference shortly past the 60-foot block and then had to pedal his ‘Stang twice to keep it hooked up while Hickle was running straight, strong and true.

At the line it was Clark’s pedaling 4.15/172.02 taking the win over Hickle's game 4.31/152.23. This was Clark’s third final and second win in five races. So the money and the points go to Eric Clark and The Clark Brothers out of Arlington, Texas.

Hot and dry will be the theme for the next Texas Automatic Outlaws event that will take place at Desert Thunder Raceway in Midland, Texas, on May 26.
