Non-qualifiers were Brad Faria in his ’79 Corvette with a 6.674 ET at 219.51 and Kurt Cruise’s “Beach Bomb” Camaro could only muster a 6.851ET at 171.38 mph for the second alternate.  Both the Mustangs of Dennis Taylor and Alex Maladinovich failed to make passes in the qualifying round.

One of the features of the Saturday show was kids finding busy drivers between rounds to autograph their special Famoso Summer Series funny car posters, here Dan Horan Jr. grabbed his Sharpie for some young fans.

In the elimination round Jack Wright crossed the centerline taking out timing cones over a slowing Dale VanGundy, Zane Messenger’s “Future Flash 2” continued to improve running a 5.830 ET at 210.64 mph over Brad Thompson’s 7.192/139.92 shutoff pass.
