Fifteen cars qualified for the Super Street 10.5W class eliminations, lead by Texas racer David DeMarco. In the final, defending class champ Mike Murillo added another win to his resume by finding his way down the hot and slightly greasy track in his ‘93 549 ci Mustang to defeat number one qualifier DeMarco and his ’84 Buick Regal. Murillo scored a .038 light and ran a very respectable 6.903/199.32 in the final to easily beat DeMarco’s slipping and sliding 8.283/132.75 losing effort.

In ARP Nostalgia Pro Street, class newcomer Darren Breaud out-muscled Kevin Parent and his ’06 GTO for a career-first NMCA tour victory, overcoming a .002 reaction time by Parent, and running him down with a 7.332/187.50 to 7.380/188.65.

In Drag Radial 275, Jason Lee’s year long stranglehold on the class was relaxed a bit after Dan Kroll’s Chevy-powered ’89 Mustang defeated him in the finals with a  .067 bulb coupled with a 7.851/183.37 effort, more than enough to cover Lee’s ‘86 Mustang, which ran a  7.924/189.66.

Phil Smith earned his first ever Xtreme Street win after besting Bob Curran in the final. Smith, who debuted the new Trans Am in Atlanta, posted a winning 8.02 over Curran’s 8.18. 

In Pro Stock, Charlie Booze Jr. and his storied Mustang took the win over Don Baskin’s Chevy in an 8.47 to 8.55 affair.

Jeremy Gillam found the winner’s circle for the second time this year in his Mustang after defeating NMRA Factory Stock racer Tommy Godfrey with a 9.89 to 9.99 run in Mean Street.

Joey Winick, competing in the Nostalgia Super Stock class, was the winner, wheeling his ’63 Savoy to victory over Skip Koester’s Ford Thunderbolt, 10.21/129.43 to 10.465/129.64.

Mike Clifford and his Barracuda took the Nostalgia Muscle Car win over Bradenton winner Gerry Vizzo and his Chevy II.

Coming out on top in the index categories were St. Louis racer Frankie Radake and his familiar red ’69 Camaro, who took his second win of the year by defeating William Smith and his Mustang.

In Lakewood EFI Rumble, Bobby Barrick also doubled his number of wins this year by trailering Rob Farley in the final.

This event also featured the 4th Annual Late Model HEMI Shootout. Some very quick SRT8 Cherokees highlighted the impressive turnout of cars this year. Winners included Brian Brunt; HEMI Unlimited, AJ Berge; Stroker, Bill McFadden; Super Stock, Paul Mondock; Pro, and Billy Copeland in the HEMI Rumble class.
