Back to funny cars, the second round found James Day running 5.943 ET taking the win over a slower Don Hudson’s 8.201 ET.

The other quick winner of the round was Zane Messenger with a stellar 5.820 ET at 234.61 mph over Kebin Kinsley’s 6.241 ET.  Rookie Messenger was going into his second consecutive final round against Day.  (James Drew photo)

In the Final, Messenger left the starting line with a -.305 red light to another solid 5.918 ET at 237.63 mph for Day – taking home the AA/FC cash.

Winning crew chief, Jon Wurtz, had some late night comments: “I’m really glad to have gotten our first win and gotten it for Gary Turner. I think we’ve got the team back on the road.  It was James Day’s first 250+ mph run and my first win!  Thanks to my entire Pedaler crew, my brother Todd and Caveman Dave for all their hard work.”  (Gary Edwards photo)
