First round competiton had these same four points leaders winning with Hoover over Tommy Mauney, in a close one with a 4.065 win over Mauney’s quicker but later 4.046 with a .101 light. Other winners were Rini over Travis Harvey, Beal over RB Smith’s replacement car for Matt Giangrande. Todd Howard was a winner over Chris Cline. The last three wins weren’t pretty but wins.

Second round had Ed Hoover redlighting away a 4.04 to put Howard in the final and Andy Beal lost to Chris Rini’s 4.03.

Todd Howard was runner up to Chris Rini in Big Dog at the July Power Jam event and is second in points

The finals ended with both drivers having identical reaction times but Rini’s bracket car like times won over last year’s champ who ran an off pace 9.86.  The theme was Chris’ ultra consistent runs of 4.02, 4.03 and 4.03 with a qualifying number of 4.02.  Hard to beat a driver with a car that can put runs together like that. Congrats Chris.

Robert Vogler won the Jr. Dragster compeition fresh after winning a recent ADRL event

Also on hand were the Jr. Dragsters with an outstanding field of cars that included : Austin Terrell, Ethan Bickford, John Moretz, Robert and sister, Jana Vogler, and both McCandless grandsons, to name a few. When the smoke cleared, Robert Vogler was standing in the winner’s circle having defeated Ken Anderson in the final. Racers and fans alike, when you see any of these kids competing an any event, go over and say hello. Encourage them because these young men and women are our very near future. Many racers in ADRL and other sanctioning bodies have drivers that started in Jrs. These cars are quick, fast, and very safe. Sure beats wondering where your kids are.
