The Don’s men sweep nitro classes on the mountain

Mopar® Dodge Avenger NHRA Pro Stock driver Allen Johnson and Mopar-powered Dodge Charger R/T NHRA Funny Car driver Jack Beckman provided the magic for the Mopar faithful and the Mopar brass  at the brand’s headline event, the 33rd Annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals.

Johnson and Beckman powered to the poles of their respective professional classes and seized wins behind the wheels of their Mopar machines  giving Mopar two wins July 22  at Bandimere Speedway as the perfect gift for the brand’s year-long 75th anniversary celebration.

TOP FUEL

Schumacher racing Top Fuel drivers Antron Brown and Spencer Massey had new chassis to race at Denver. The new pipe came from Schumacher Racing’s fabrication shop and Brown’s assistant crew chief Brad Mason supervised the work and the car was completed just in time for the Mile-High race.

Brown drove his new car to the team's third NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event title of the season moving thet team to second in championship points behind DSR teammate Spencer Massey. Massey’s new car qualified No. 1 but lost in the semifinals.

Spencer Massey and the FRAM/Prestone Top Fuel Dragster tuned by crew chiefs Todd Okuhara and Phil Shuler delivered the teams second “pole” of the season.

Massey’s dragster was started for the first time Thursday at the track and on its first pass went ot the top of the qualifying ladder and stayed there.
