Although there wasn’t much national attention paid the World Street Nationals came out of a two-year hiatus and returned to Orlando Speed World Dragway in Florida, for the twentieth edition of the race. Carl Weisinger, former track operator and originator of the race, had no connection with this event.

New track operator Ozzy Moya and general manager Wade Rich had great weather and record-breaking speeds and ET’s on the newly renovated track. Rich had the track hooking as, although several cars broke, there was not one oil-down over the three-day event. An estimated 135-140 cars paid entry fees.
