Gene Nicodemus, owner of North Star Dragway, put up $1,000 to win and $500 to runner up on a second chance eliminator race which included all non-qualifiers and first round losers.

John Sheffield (shown) made it to the final round defeating Jon King in the semi-finals with a holeshot 4.92 at 146 mph to King's 4.90 at 145 mph.
