Frees looked strong every round.

He and his wife were rewarded with the winner’s check by Series Director, Chris Schneider (left).

The final round matched the 409 Chevy of Jerry Kuenster against the Max Wedge Plymouth Wagon of Tim Frees. With a 0.05 reaction advantage and his 11.28 ET, Frees forced Kuenster to break out, running 11.97 on his 12.0 index. With the win light in his lane, Frees not only took the Byron Spring Nationals victory but also the points lead in the Victory NSS Series. This is his second time in the Victory NSS Winners Circle. Two years ago he defeated his brother Jeff in the final at Cordova to take the coveted World Series of Drag Racing Crown.
