FIM-Europe Pro Stock Bike

For Pro Stock Bike we could almost replay last year’s comments, with Fredrik Fredlund overcoming the tricky track conditions to re-set the European ET record. This time Fredlund didn’t manage to qualify low, that honour went to Kenneth Vik onboard the Sovereign/Star Suzuki with a 7.039/189, but during the eliminations Fredlund was seemingly unstoppable with a 7.045 accounting for Timo Savolainen and then a sub-record 7.019 did for Elvira Karlsson in the semi-final. Not content with that as the record, Fredlund produced an oh so close to the sixes 7.005 to take the event spoils and move into second spot behind his would be final round opponent Ulf Ögge.

Ögge was a no-show thanks to a bent valve stem signifying potentially worrying engine damage after his semi-final win over a no-showing Vik. This came on the back of previous motor damage and gearbox problems during qualifying that meant the BikeLine Buell rider had only one representative shot before raceday. A 7.102 in the first round of eliminations was a significant improvement and accounted for Kalle Lyrén, before the sudden loss of forward go in the semifinal solo that smacked Ögge’s head on the windshield.
