Eliminations started Saturday evening in front of a packed house at Cedar Falls Raceway. With smoky burnouts and wheels-up launches, the Victory Cars went to battle.

The first pair out was #1 Qualifier Phil Cathey against 2011 Series Champion Dan Beale. Cathey’s Wedge-powered Plymouth came out on top over Beale’s Pontiac as Cathey’s 0.05 reaction was too much for Beale’s tardy 0.138 light.  (Dennis Mothershed photo)

Steve Glubke returned to the Victory Series for the first time in 2013 with a stellar 0.022 light, defeating 2010 Champion Clay Kossuth.

Points leader Tim Frees made all the hard work prior to the event worthwhile with a first round win and a 0.032 reaction. (Dennis Mothershed photo)

Tom Hoffman started his winning ways with a victory over Jeff Frees.

Round two started with a clash of two of the best NSS racers in the country. Tim Frees’ 0.058 light and 10.53 just topped Steve Glubke’s 0.057 and 10.06 on his 10.00 index. Wally Krueger defeated Jim Hagenhoff’s high flying Hemi with a great 0.029 reaction.
