Dan Donnelly in the “Rocketship” Ford Thunderbird and Josh Leahy in the “Nitro Sherriff” Chevy Camaro wheelstanders did four paired runs on the day. It was obvious that Donnelly was still getting use to the tree as he lost four-zip but as can be seen here the two young guns certainly put on a good show.

At the end of the night the three best drivers received these unique “Rocket” shaped trophies. This saw (from left) third placed Justin Walshe, winner Tommy Johnson Junior and second placed Greg Leahy being presented with their missiles. TJ said “When I saw the trophies on the Internet I said to myself I’ve gotta have one of those” to which Walshe quipped “I’d like to see it when you go on board the plane with a rocket that has Nitro written all over it”. Leahy on the other hand was quite sincere when he said “we had a fantastic run today and I have to say thank you to Graeme and Wendy Cowin as there is no one who puts so much into drag racing but asks nothing back – they are wonderful people and this was a great event”.
