APE Pro Comp

The eighth mile Pro Comp category saw Mark Paquette sitting on top of the pile after qualifying – no mean achievement for a turbo bike in amongst a sea of PXM bikes – but it was the nitrous bikes that would contest the final with Ashley Owens on his McKinney Motorsports entry taking the win with a 4.121/171.64 over a redlighting (with a slender -0.009s RT) Billy Vose on the MPS Hayabusa.

Paquette’s low qualifying 4.058/187.52 would stand for low ET and top speed of the class and first round 4.08/164 almost matched the ET and were the only two passes in the 0s over the weekend. Paquette’s ride got a little unruly at half track causing his semifinal loss to Vose, but we really would like to see what numbers Paquette would be capable of hitting on a return to running over the full quarter.
