‘Violator’ mows down field and scores max points for second straight race

Shawn Bowen drove the family’s “Violator” AA/FC Pontiac Firebird to its second win of the 2014 season at the June 6-7 inaugural Eighth-Mile Nationals at Keith Murt’s refurbished Beacon Dragway in Paducah, KY.

Bowen defeated Australian native Barrie “Bazz” Young in his “Down Under Thunder” ‘69 Camaro on an extremely tricky 1/8th mile track that had seen a lot of rain for a couple of days. It was Youngs first final round appearance in the Hedman/DRO nitro funny car series.
