We would have placed a small pile of cash on the Nataas/Andersen Racing combination picking up the event win on the tricky surface as they were the earliest to dial-in by knocking pretty much everything out of the European record setting combination qualifying low with a 4.393 and improving to class best marks of 4.323/274 mph in the opening round win over Noah Stutz. It is a good job we are not of the gambling kind as we’d have lost the house last year and again this year at the semi-final stage as Nataas’s event aspirations lost momentum at the moment the blower lifted against Neergaard.

After coming second in the championship last year, Mattias Wulcan and the Wulcano team have set their sights on the number one spot for 2014 and qualifying low (with a 6.256) and defeating Mats Eriksson (bouncing back from his altercation with the wall at the season opener) and Tami Brander (with a class low et 6.225) before knocking off Roger Johansson with a consistent 6.229 added to the NitrOlymp’X trophy picked up last year and gives the Swede a healthy early season lead in the points.
