Todd “King Tut” Tutterow

The GALOT cars were numbers 1 and 3 with Tutterow at 3.832 on the pole with Rivenbark third at 3.889. In between was Tommy Franklin’s Pat Musi-tuned Camaro at 3.865. Fourth was Jay Cox at 3.900 in the Charlie Buck-tuned Camaro. Fifth was the new Camaro of Danny Perry at 3.911 with sixth going to Travis Harvey’s Russ Farmer-tuned “Carolina Kid” Camaro making the field at 3.936. Seventh was Randy Weatherford at 3.967 and eighth was Charles Carpenter at 3.982 who seemed to have not lost a step in tuning or driving.

First round action was highlighted by a perfect .000 light by Harvey, only to lose to Rivenbark’s slower light but quicker ET at 3.906. Franklin used a .013 light with a 3.83 to defeat Weatherford’s 3.96. Tutterow ran a 3.858 to end Carpenter’s day and Cox ran a strong 3.891 to defeat Perry, who slowed to a 5.257.


Kevin Rivenbark

The semis were highlighted by Rivenbark having to cut a .001 light to defeat Franklin’s quicker 3.818 with a 3.870. Tutterow ran a 4.31 to cruise after Cox broke.

In the all GALOT final, Rivenbark picked up where he left off in Dinwiddie, Va., by running a .016 light and a 3.879 to get by Tutterow’s .061 light and a 3.904 et. Top mph honors went to Tommy Franklin’s impressive 198.06 mph.
