Gaige Herrera from La Mirada, Calif., was the #1 qualifier with his very quick 2005 Suzuki at 7.639, while Cesar E. Carballo of Simi Valley captured the Top Speed in the class at 172.52 mph. In the grand finale it was those two competitors as it should be, with the Herrera team turning in a winning time of 7.986 at 169.55 mph over a trailing 8.337/163.87.

MX 8.20 INDEX

Turbo Joe was the best in qualifying at a 8.706, 149.66 mph, but it was Las Vegas resident, Mark McMahn over Drew Green in the final round of eliminations 7.916, 151.51 on a single.

MX 8.88 INDEX

There were only two competitors in the 8.88 index class as Fontana’s own LaVerk Harper with his 2014 Hayabusa easily swept the honors at 9.273/125.63 over Big Bruce at 12.325 at 59 mph. LaVerk also was #1 qualifier at 9.048 and 138.84 mph

Nearby Rialto, California’s Noah Penright on his ’92 GSXR was the top qualifier at 9.310 and 149.13 mph and he narrowly defeated a tough competitor R. J. Martin from Peoria, Ariz., with his 205 Hayabusa 9.309/143.72 to 9.42/140.49.

MX PRO ET

Chris Barrios from Redlands, Calif., set the pace in the large Pro ET field of 15 competitors. Glendale, Arizona’s Kory Stonecipher swept the honors at 10.114/122.34 over a trailing San Francisco resident, Sam Blaylock, at a very quick 9.050 at 150.65. This class was a dial-in class which explains the time difference.

STREET RACERS BAGGER CLASS

One of Division 7’s finest riders, Augustine Herrera, was the quickest “Bagger” on the property as he laid down a fine 11.036/120.52 during qualifying and then the Montebello, Calif., resident laid down another super pass of 11.036 at 120.52 mph in the final for the win.
