Top Fuel Shootout

The pre-advertised Top Fuel Shootout was a bit of a struggle for the RF Motorsports team as they fielded four cars with two returning drivers in the form of Jari Halinen (coming back for a full season in the SISU rail) and Duncan Micallef (in the black, red and white digger the Malteser drove for a full season in 2014), and a pair of TF rookies trying to license in the shape of Birgitte Bremnes and Liam Jones, the latter attempting to get the paperwork squared away before embarking on the full FIA European tour at the end of May in the stunning Bomber-themed entry. The licenses would remain incomplete as conditions militated against anything other than a short stab before shake and/or smoke would appear, and Micallef recorded low ET with a 4.977 that lit up the motor at halftrack. “A weekend from hell” came the comment from team principal Rune Fjeld.
