Ronny Rhodes

The event's other heads-up competition was the Ultra Street class. John Snyder of Middletown, Del., quickly became a crowd favorite throwing his beautiful '65 GTO on its back bumper every run, eventually getting the best of Ronny Rhodes in the final with a 4.971 run. The young Rhones continues to show a ton of promise and looks to become a class winner sooner than later, getting to the finals on a consistent basis.

Bob White

The Wild Bunch also thrilled the large Mountain Motor Nationals crowd all weekend with its high-flying, long smoky burnouts and Chicago-style eliminations format. Bob White got the best of the class on a holeshot championship effort and running a 6.253 quarter-mile blast at 208.26 in his supercharged '39 Fiat over a 217.84-mph run and quicker 6.217 run in his 2000 Altered.
