Although the race was scheduled to end Saturday night, heavy rain continuing to fall from late Friday night and through most of Saturday forced PDRA officials to cancel Saturday's schedule and return Sunday to conduct a third and final qualifying session followed by Eliminations.

The Sunday morning qualifying session saw no unqualified racers "bump" into the elite 16-car field in Pro Extreme but in both Pro Nitrous and Pro Boost a few racers moved from unqualified to qualified. PRO EXTREME

Pro Extreme Eliminations on Sunday found the quickest and fastest accelerating doors cars in drag racing facing an exceptionally prepped track and very low (for St. Louis in the summertime) temps. For the supercharged Pro Extreme teams the conditions were right for some mind-bending performances, and the hardy fans that stayed through the cold and rain were treated to runs that delivered close racing and very fast and quick times.

Two-time PDRA Pro Extreme champ Jason Scruggs waded through the ultra-tough 16-car field (it took a 3.79 ET to make the quick 16) starting from a very strange for him 15th qualifying position.

In round one of racing, though, Scruggs demonstrated why he has two national championship trophies on his shelf and erased any concern that he'd lost the combination with a crushing 3.547/217.84 lap against teammate and 2014 Pro Extreme champ, Bubba Stanton. It was no contest and Stanton, who was in the preferred right lane, spun and shook the tires early and lifted.

In the quarter-finals the Scruggs team got a competition bye when Todd "King Tut" Tutterow broke. Scruggs sent a message to the competition with his second consecutive 3.540 ET at 219.08.
