Jones Kicks Off OFAA Season with Victory at North Star

The Painless Performance Products Outlaw Fuel Altered Association was finally able to conclude their first event of the 2015 season after two straight rainouts delayed the start of the series' 19th consecutive season. The amount of rain seen in the state of Texas through April and May set records across the board and filled area lakes and reservoirs that had been critically low for years, but made things tough for drag racers in the region who were eager to get out to their local drag strip and mash the loud pedal. A solid fourteen car field of OFAA competitors made an appearance at North Star Dragway in Denton, Texas for the season opener and qualifying got underway at 6 p.m. sharp as the sound of nitro methane cackling from the pipes filled the evening sky with air temperatures around 90 degrees and a track temp of 135 degrees.

Jimmy Jones and the "Texas Tremor" team kicked off the action and made it look easy with an opening lap of 3.95 at 165 mph to set the pace.
