FIM-E Super Street Bike Cup

The no bar Super Street Bike collective produced some spectacular numbers, with the class ET mark repeatedly reset with Dave Holland taking it down to a 7.0686/205.19 to qualify on top of the heap. 'Dutch' lowered the mark further in the opening round of eliminations with a 7.0387/207.90, but the black and orange Busa was gone in the quarter final stage. The final would pit 2014 Cup holder Steve Venables against a returning Rick Stubbins and in what could be considered an upset, the Protek Racing rider took the win when Venables pulled a huge red light (perhaps wary of the 7.1138/201.46 that Stubbins put up in the semifinals).

Euro Nitro Funny Car

The Nitro Funny Car series continues with rumours of additional entries, but only three teams made the entry list. Kevin Kent and the West Ten Mustang would take the event win with a 4.5512 but the flash of light (and inevitable trail of oil) at around 800 feet out indicated that it came at a price. Runner-up John Spuffard had a bit of a thrash to make the call after a similar flash fire in the shutdown area in the semi-final, with the rush perhaps contributing to a stutter off the line. The Showtime UK team did have new European best marks over 1000 foot of a 4.4033/282.12 to take low qualifying honours with the ET mark backed up with a 4.4186/267.19 in eliminations.
