"We got the cars unloaded and went to warm up my dragster and notice the blower belt was kinda tight. Then after the motor built some heat, it was too tight and we had to change pulleys, which meant we would miss first round."

While all the other teams seemed to be in good shape that could not be said for the dragster of Roger Marcia driven by Kyle Hansen. The car shook so violently in their first round attempt that it bent the wheelie bar on the white dragster. "A fan said something," said Marcia. A floor jack block of wood and a ratchet strap got the bars straight again.

As night began to fall, the teams came out for their second attempt. Last year's winner Dane Lachet struggled with the car wheel standing all weekend, however he and the rest of the "Way Too Much Fun" Team got it figured out and made a very nice lap to get him into the hunt for the finals running a 4.40.
