D/Gas, the guys from Bakersfield really flexed their muscles as Steve Barta stopped Tim Gorman’s El Camino in the final of the 10.60 class.

Hot Rod Eliminator was captured by Jay Waxler’s ’70 Duster from Fort Mojave, Ariz., over Kurt Kaemerle’s ’72 Nova out of Redondo Beach, Calif.

And with that a very successful first Division 7 Nostalgia race drew to conclusion. The action was augmented by an appearance of the Western Fuel Altered Association cars who made lots of crowd pleasing runs during the race. With the improvement we noticed in this Fuel Altered group, there may soon be a challenge between this group and the Texas cars headed by Bobby Marriott.

We look forward to the March Meet (Mar. 4-6) at Bakersfield, California’s Auto Club Famoso, where the Group 1 and 2 cars will be joined by the Top Fuel dragsters and Funny Cars.
