Tony Schumacher, racing from the fifth qualifying position in his U.S. Army Dragster for DSR, lost traction at the very start of his first-round run against No. 12 qualifier Wayne Newby and saw his day come to an early end.

Leah Pritchett defeated Shawn Reed in the first round and Brittany Force defeated Tripp Tatum. The ladies met in round two and Pritchett’s 3.816/279.21 took the win over Force’s up-in-smoke 4.303 at 223.65 mph.

Whether it’s the first Las Vegas win for Torrence or the WHATEVER for Force, the smiles are just as big.
