NHRA's newly crowned 2016 Pro Mod champ, Rickie Smith of King, NC, driving his 903 cubic inch nitrous injected machine, defeated the supercharged 2015 Camaro of Bolingbrook, Ill., driver Dan Stevenson in the $4,000 Real Pro Mod final. The pair turned in nearly identical reaction times (.075 for Smith to an .076 for Stevenson) on the starting line but Smith won the heads-up race to the finish line, 4.862 sec., 231.00 mph to Stevenson's 4.936 sec., 232.51 mph.
