Special Report: Rust Revival

On Thursday night prior to the actual start of the 2016 ‘Rust Revival’ in Wayland, Mo., cars were already lining up on the street in front of Reed’s Bar & Grill. We caught the Gary Trumps there and had a wonderful time together. They were driving Gary’s restored 1941 Mercury coup powered by an LT1 Corvette motor. To celebrate his recent 70th birthday, Gary and his daughter, Tiffany, drove this car across the US as a part of The Great Race, a rally from Kirkwood, Mo. to Los Angeles on old highway U.S. 66.

Back in my day at Tri State Dragway, Gary and Ronnie Redding won everything in sight with a ’55 Chevy stocker, along with setting several track and national records!
