Some riders chose the full fire suit approach with helmet and mask while others went ‘old school’ sans shirt or any safety gear. After all, one rider told us, “it’s only 125 feet.”

Finally, we found Ed Bruegge standing in front of Reed’s eating an awesome pork tenderloin sandwich at high noon. We then had to follow big Ed back to Fairfield, Iowa, to get a photo of his latest street roadster. Those from the early ‘60s at the Kahoka Drag Races will remember Ed’s Possum Chaser A/G, which won a lot of hardware.

Until next time!
