A highlight for me was visiting with Tommy Johnson, Sr. and wife, Sarah, whom I’ve known for years. We toured the immediate area where the Johnsons live and found NASCAR and NHRA shops and headquarters galore. This is at Mooresville, North Carolina, just north of Charlotte and close to Lake Norman.

The JR Motorsports headquarters of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was one of the large shops in the area, the largest being the complex of Roger Penske!
