FHRA Nitro Nationals at Alastaro Circuit, Finland

Season Marks Halfway Point

Håkan Persson

The long trip to the far end of European tour for those of us based in lil’ ol’ Blighty is always an eventful visit to the land of 100,000 lakes. This time around some tight qualifying appeared to be a prelude to some great rounds of elimination, but when some white and fluffy clouds became somewhat less white and fluffy and started shooting out forks of lightening together with the inevitable downpour of wet stuff, it didn’t bode too well for the completion of the meeting. Despite the FHRA track crew getting the track into close to go condition on a number of occasions, eventually it was called with just a handful of classes through their first round.

Some significant first round losers were on the relieved side of the ledger whilst others were left to rue the missed opportunities for some major moves in the points chase at the halfway mark.
