FIA Pro Modified

Michael “Micke” Gullqvist

Incoming points leader Micke Gullqvist was in fairly short order heading the Pro Mod field, ending up on top with a 6.059 with David Vegter dipping into the 6.0s with a final session 6.082 and Johan Lindberg (6.126) Bruno Bader (6.135), Thomas Stiefel (6.190 - the Swiss team obviously enjoying their first full season on the FIA trail) and Åke Persson (6.192) occupying the top six spots in the 12-car field.

Fredrik Fagerstrom

The even number of qualified entries placed Gullqvist with a first round match-up against Fredrik Fagerström (ditching the turbo setup that gave him headaches last season and re-installing a blown combo) and how Gullan would have wished for a bye as the quicker reacting car setup pushed him into the red zone with a -0.015 RT wasting a 6.116 whilst Fagerström turned right off the startline and lit the win light with a 7.086.

David Vegter

Championship chaser Mats Eriksson produced a 6.096 from the Green Goblin Victoria to down Persson, whilst Vegter, Stiefel, Lindberg and Bader all progressed and were collectively downcast at the missed opportunity to make up further ground on the Pampas Marina/Texas Steakhorn Camaro when the rain came down.
