At the green, Jones (far lane) nailed the tree and was not going to be denied as his 4.28 at 165.68 took care of Borgons’ 4.32/151.92 in the B Final.

The A final might have confused some, as it was Kyle Hansen who did not turn on the win light it was Lachelt (near lane) who got to the stripe first. However, his 4.17-second elapse time was way too far under the 4.25 index and Hansen was second across the line, however he was able to run a 4.26 on the 4.25 index and garnered the win.

Hansen was excited for the win, but in the winner’s circle, he showed some good-natured frustration when racing Lachelt. “There has to be some button in that car (Lachelt) ’cause as soon as I get up beside him he just takes off and leaves me. But this time he went too fast and we get the win.”

The fans got their money’s worth as the Blown Alcohol Thunder Series drivers and crews put on a great show, both on and off the track. The teams all engage the fans in the pits and are wonderful ambassadors to the sport. Renegade Raceway also is fan friendly and the team there works hard to put on the best show they can.

This is the winners of the sportsman racing at Renegade.
