We’re trying again

We are going to try the changeover to the new format tonight. So, if the DRO magazine is missing for a couple of hours or more, don’t be alarmed. The old magazine may be unavailable for a short time to undergo an archival process but will be back eventually.

As soon as we know everything is working the way it is supposed to, we will load the new April issue. This time for sure, Rocky? [04/10/17]

Wolf signs on for full NHRA Regional schedule with Booher Racing

After a promising two-race campaign in 2016, Top Alcohol Dragster rookie Kirk Wolf has committed to running a full schedule of races in 2017. He will again get behind the wheel of the Booher Racing blown alcohol dragster for three national events and the full NHRA Lucas Oil Series North Central Region schedule, beginning with the North Central Region season opener in Indianapolis, April 28-30.

Wolf will drive the supercharged Booher Racing entry tuned by 2013 NHRA North Central Region champion Brandon Booher and owned by crew chief Aaron Booher. Wolf attended several races with the team last season to learn the routines involved with running a torque converter-equipped dragster. The Texas native then made his Top Alcohol Dragster debut at the 2016 AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals in Dallas, followed by a first-round win at the NHRA Toyota Nationals in Las Vegas last October.

The AB Construction team plans to attend the full NHRA North Central Region schedule in pursuit of the regional championship. Wolf also plans to compete at the Chevrolet Performance NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals in Dallas, and the NHRA Toyota Nationals in Las Vegas this fall. Hail, Hail, Rock & Roll!

Jr. Dragster racers competing last weekend at the Dragplex at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, IL, joined the St. Louis citywide toast to the late Chuck Berry on Saturday night, April 8, at 10 p.m. (The races ended at 7 p.m. so the #ToastToChuck at Gateway was moved up.)

Berry, often referred to as the father of rock ‘n’ roll, was a native of St. Louis and passed away at age 90 on March 18. He was inducted into the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. [04/10/17]
