NHRA National Open at Fontana, CA

Veterans take first Div. 7 season wins

The season began for the NHRA sportsman racers with the Pacific National Open held Jan. 28-29 at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana. Two other events are on the Division 7 National Open schedule: May 6-7 at Sacramento, CA, and June 3-4 at Fallon, NV.

Veteran Randy Fabbro, Glendora, CA, got the Super Gas win in his ’78 Pinto with a holeshot .014 RT and 6.319 at 109.76 mph. John Ross’s 6.280/128.03 in his ’63 Corvette could not overcome his .031 RT. Ross is out of Mission Viejo, CA.
