Each gauge came with the sending unit and adapters and is very easy to install. We are hoping to install an Auto Meter Data Acquisition System this summer. If we get that done, the information can be used to really improve performance and repeatability. I’ll keep you posted if we can get that equipment purchased.

The Quarter Pro shifter came ready to install and has worked flawlessly.

Well, I finally got enough done to get “Project 4-Link” out to Eddyville Dragway for a couple days. Andy, my son, and I were there to get our IHRA Competition Licenses. I drove first (of course, I am the OLD GUY!). The dragster was a breeze to get around the pit roads and I actually might have looked like I knew what I was doing. Here is where the “fun” began.

The first run was a weak burnout followed by a 4000 RPM transbrake launch. OK…I know everyone told me to have my head against the roll bar. Can I use the “old guy – no memory” excuse? Well, it rang my bell pretty good. Everything went well on the half pass, 5.98 @91 mph. Wow! Half a second faster than my Dart ever ran! The next run was to be another partial pass but it was not to be. I did a better burnout and when the tires shook at the end of the burnout the damn parachute fell out! I am glad Gary Shearer, track manager, was on his toes as he sprinted out there before I backed over it (Thanks, Gary) He politely rolled it up, handed it to me as I sat in the car. I won’t forget what he said, “Just in case I was confused…the ‘chute is used at the other end!” I was laughing and so was he.
