The final product I want to mention this month is the Oil Accumulator from Moroso. I wanted to be able to pre-lube my engine before starting it to prevent unnecessary wear and tear on bearings and especially valve springs and rocker arms. The Accumulator, part #23900, has a three-quart capacity and can be plumbed into the engine main oil galley. I opted for the electric solenoid valve, part #23905, so when I turn the ignition "on" the solenoid is opened and the Accumulator releases oil, at the 30 psi. I pre-charged into the Accumulator, into the oil galley to pre-lube the engine before I start it. Once the engine starts the normal oil pressure pushes the three quarts of Synergyn race oil back into the Accumulator. When the car is shut off the solenoid valve closes and oil is stored in the Accumulator until it is needed again.

Moroso mounting kit #23920 makes the mounting of this cylinder a snap. The only penalty is a few pounds of extra weight but in my opinion it is a bargain for the protection it provides the race engine.

The next "Project 4-Link" tech update will show you the steps we used to get the Barry Grant belt-drive fuel pump mounted on out Mopar as well as the alternator. The just released alcohol version of the King Demon RS should be here for our inspection as well. Some of you will get a laugh out of my "backyard engineering" I used, but HEY -- it works!
