LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED ALREADY!

Don't ya just love the International Hot Rod Association? The Quizter shore does, if for no other reason than they aren't the National Hot Rod Association. Have they just been damned by faint praise? Hardly, as the Quizter values variety in all walks of life, even drag racing. IHRA does, however, wait a good long spell to begin each new season, whilst the Westerners are well under way by now. Fear not, the IHRA lid-lifter at San Antonio is almost at hand, so here's a quick five Q's to chew on. Reference the 2006 San Antonio season opener and get to work.

#1 In the heralded return of the Nitro Funny Car class, which flopper star grabbed the first ever "new era" IHRA FC crown?
A CRUZ PEDREGON
B TERRY HADDOCK
C JACK WYATT
D GARY DENSHAM
#2 Clay Millican has proven virtually unbeatable in IHRA Top Fuel competition. Not so at SA in 2006. Who did the dirty deed to Clay?
A LOUIE ALLISON
B DOUG FOLEY
C JACK OSTRANDER
D CHRIS KARAMASINES
#3 Pro Stock is always tough at IHRA events. Who grabbed the P/S pole position at SA?
A BRIAN GAHM
B STEVE SPEISS
C RICK JONES
D FRANK GUGLIOTTA

#4 Still in IHRA Pro Stock, who recorded Top Speed in qualifying?
A BRIAN GAHM
B TONY GILLIG
C RICK JONES
D JERRY HAAS

#5 Pro Mod, the class that "made" the present-day IHRA as a group that could offer something different to the drag racing public was tough as ever at SA. Who was the quickest qualifier in Pro Mod?
A MIKE CASTELLANA
B TOMMY D'APRILE
C SCOTT CANNON
D

RICK DESTEFANO
