And while Ron would never have considered himself a photographer (he left that to longtime friend Tim Marshall), he was very good with his camera. At the 2011 'Super Run' in Henderson, Nevada, he snuck away from our group and captured one of the best photos for my monthly Then & Now column.  The Ford Pinto shown below won both Friday and Saturday's burnout contests and was the talk of the show.  Ron got it all, red smoke drift tires filling the entire area.

I'm over budget with my column; hopefully Jeff Burk with allow this as Ron was a tremendous DRO supporter since the magazine's inception. This column could easily be twice the size and still not cover all the material we have on my fantastic friend Ron.
