This is a good comparison of the additional beefiness of the Moroso rod end against the ones I am removing. The extra material adds a lot of strength around the ball of the rod end.

Here are the four link bars with the new rod ends installed. We ran a tap through the threads. This meant I had to find a 3/4" left hand thread tap for half the holes (I'm glad Andy has access to these at Progressive Machine and Tool). Coat the rod end threads with Never-Seize to make adjustments and or removal easier.

Next up on the suspension for Back-2-Basics are some new rear shock absorbers. We need to replace the non-adjustable ones I took off the car and sold at the swap meet. We did some looking around and came up with several good coil-over shock absorbers. We are on a budget, so we try to get the best function for the least money that will not hurt performance or reliability. We chose the Moroso Competition Engineering Magnum Series coil-over shock part number C2770. They feature billet aluminum body with a 5/8" chrome piston and excellent reputation. The mounting is the fairly common 1/2" x 1" wide spherical bearing mount. For racing I recommend you stay away from rubber or urethane mounted shocks.

This is a shot of the Moroso / Competition Engineering Magnum Series shocks after the spherical bearings and springs mounts are attached.
