I have a 68
Camaro, Leaf Spring Car with housing floater.
How can I lower this car? Its extremely
high in the rear. I bought the car the
way it is and it works great but looks
awful. Please help.

Thanks for the question Tony.
Well there are a couple of different
scenarios for your problem. The first
thing that I would try to do is lower
the shock if possible, hence bringing
the rear of the car down. The unfortunate
issue with this adjustment is that it
changes the rear suspension geometry.
You would have to make these adjustments
and then take it to the race track and
try it to see how the effects of the shock
move factor into how the car works.
This scenario is more involved. It would
involve lowering the mounts for the ladder
bar (the same distance that you would
want the rear of the car to drop) as well
as adding coil over shocks to rear, hence
getting rid of the floater system and
leaf springs. You would mount the coil
over so that at ride height the shock
is in the middle of the travel. Also check
for proper tire clearance.
Thanks,
