Check Out That Chassis

5/8/08

I have a '69 Mustang that has been back-halfed. For the past 5 years I have been running S/ST (10.90) with no problem. I have now changed the 351C to a 514 BBF. I can not hook up on the starting line for nothing. How can I adjust the ladder bars to make it hook like it did before? (The car still goes straight but spins the 15" slicks)

Greg,

Bigger motor more torque. This will hit the tire harder the tire balances or rebounds and spins. There are a couple of adjustments you can make. 1st lower the front of the ladder bar, these will take some of the hit out of it. 2nd if you have double adjustable shocks tighten the extension on the shock, this will slow the hit down. If you don't have adjustable shocks, try the ladder bar move first and video the run. You may find that you can slow the rise of the front a little to help this also. Call or send me video if you need more help. We have adjustable shocks in stock and ready to go.
