Michael Gunderson made it three in a row as he took the
Federal-Mogul Dragster win at Moroso Motorsports Park's 20th Anniversary
Murray's Mountain Dew Citrus Nationals. His "Under the Gun" A Fuel dragster
dominated the class, qualifying number one at 5.672/250.83 and setting
low e.t. at 5.605 and top speed at 351.60. In the final round Gunderson
met John Headley and turned a 5.662/233.70 to Headley's 6.900/164.68.
In the Outlaw Street Shootout, Steve Grebeck drove Pat
Musi's new '69 Camaro and dominated the class. He qualified number one
at 6.821 and later set low e.t. at 6.768. In his final round against
Douglas Horween's '68 Camaro (photo below), Grebeck ran Top Speed of
the meet at 209.30 mph.
Jerry Gwynn helped on Ray Heathcoe's ex-Luxor Top Fueler
and the dragster ran a 5.70 on Sunday. Unfortunately, they later torched
the block.
