We all agree that the car needs more gear. The 2.73 posi unit just won't do. Also, several El Camino drivers at the track tell me that removing the air filter and putting the tailgate down will pick the speed up about 5-mph. We are now in receipt of a 3.73 gear set courtesy of Strange and US Gear. We've ordered the parts to vent the nitrous to the outside and we are looking at opening up the exhaust. All the other guys' cars sound really cool with the pipes open and I desperately want to be cool -- especially if I can't go fast. We are going to try to install the gear set and maybe open the headers up and make some more passes before they close the track for the season or the cops from the Costco parking lot track us down. We're hoping for 15's at over 95 the next time out. With gears and nitrous and somebody else driving we've got a shot. Oh, by the way...if you're at the track when we run, bring your helmet with you and I'll let you make a lap. We've got to find someone who can beat that rat Kepner.
