The fuel distribution system used on this alcohol burner is one of Holley’s FAST XFI injectors programmed to work with the Vortec blower that sits on top of a custom-built Hogan tubular intake manifold. Ignition is by an MSD Pro Mag and Chris monitors the engine and drivetrain with a state-of-the-art Race Pak computer.

When it’s right, the combination makes unreal power. Two years ago at Fontana, the Nova broke the 7-second barrier with a very impressive 6.71 at over 212.66 mph -- made even more impressive by the fact that Chris has 10.5-inch Mickey Thompson slicks on the car.  Since then the Nova’s best numbers are 6.65/215 for the quarter mile and 4.30/175+ in the eighth -- not bad numbers for an almost all-steel vehicle that weighs in at a portly 3150 lbs. at its lightest.

While competing in the Pacific Street Car Association with the Deuce is enjoyable for the Alston clan, their main focus for doing so is, and will continue to be, developing durable, dependable and better performing products for their customers.
