What are your thoughts on running 1 of your 622 12 degree motors on alchohol & do you have any out there?

Brad Clarke, Raymond, MS

Brad,

Absolutely! The small fast burn chambers and high compression ratio (16.2:1) of the 622 engine runs exceptionally well on Alcohol. We have truck and tractor pullers as well as Drag racers that are running the 12° Raptor heads with either alcohol injection or alcohol carburetors. The carburetors make about 35 to 40 more HP than the mechanical injection and ever 622s that we have set up to run alcohol, have used carburetors. On alcohol the Reher Morrison Raptor 622 produces 980-1000ft/lbs at 5700rpm and 1280 to 1290 HP at 7600rpm. With C25 racing fuel the 622s will make 960-965ft/lbs at 6100rpm and 1300-1305 at 7800rpm.

David Reher asked Darin Morgan to answer this question because it is his area of expertise.
