GAME OVER? TOLIVER RACING IS NOW ONE CAR TEAM
Toliver Racing, with the support of the World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc., announced that it would park the second car, driven by rookie driver Tony Bartone, for the remainder of the 2001 season effective immediately. Jerry Toliver will remain in the driver's seat of the primary car and Dale Armstrong will continue his duties as crew chief for Toliver Racing.

"It was a difficult decision to make, however we feel it will allow us to direct our focus on the performance of the primary car," stated Toliver. "I support and believe in Dale Armstrong 100% as the Crew Chief for this team. My trust and confidence in his abilities have never wavered and I am certain he will see this team through these changes."

"It has been my pleasure working with Bob Brooks as a crew chief and Tony Bartone. Both have done a tremendous job and if and when we return to a two-car format, Brooks and Bartone will be my first choice for the second team," added Toliver."

CANNON GOES 331+ AT NORWALK

Scotty Cannon is no stranger to record setting speeds and neither is his crew chief Wes Cerney, so it would not be surprising if the "Nitro 'Mater" set a speed record. Having said that the Agent is still a little surprised that Cannon was able to run 331 at a "Chicago Style" eight car race at Norwalk Raceway Park. We'll let you readers and others more informed wonder about how Cannon could pick up 80-mph on the back half of the track when most fuel cars generally pick up around 55-65 mph, according to the fuel racers Agent 1320 talked to.

They didn't believe it when Karamesines went 200 at Alton, Ill 40-plus years ago, but most now acknowledge that he did -- so why couldn't Scotty go 331.Here are the numbers:

60-ft --.909
330-ft --2.34
660-ft -- 3.345/253.32
1000-ft -- 4.175
1/4 mile -- 4.882/331.20
