Blaine Johnson, the 30-time NHRA national
event champion who was killed in a 1996 U.S. Nationals crash at
Indianapolis Raceway Park, was memorialized Friday morning as a
plaque bearing his likeness and career record was unveiled and the

by the crowd (at announcer Dave McClelland's urging) to Gary Densham's
first-round win over Chuck Etchells. It marked the first time Densham
