WHERE’S AL?

Anybody know what Al Hofmann has been doing since he quit driving? I sure miss him and his top end interviews.

TWO WRONGS

Boycott, wa, wa, wa! Sounds like the rich boy wants to take his bat and ball and go home. What a loser. Got to agree with you on this, even if I do think NHRA sucks.

WHO DO YOU HAVE TO KNOW TO GET CAMERA TIME?

I can understand Evan Knoll being upset with the lack of air time his cars received. I have noticed that some cars sponsors are always shown on camera, and that others are shunned. Remember when Jesse James sponsored 2-time nation champion Scott Kallita? It took some tricky work, but the camera went to great lengths to make sure you didn't see the sponsor name or logo. What do you think the sponsors are paying for?

I heard Lucas make the same complaint.

IT WORKS FOR HORSES

Dare I say, "CLAIM" races? It works very well for other organizations. How does it work? Simply put... if a racer wins with his combination, a pre-determined component or assembly can be "claimed" (for a set price) by the loser. Could be a fuel delivery system, a wing, a short-block, ignition system or whatever makes most sense for the class. That way, nobody in their right mind would spend huge fortunes on these parts if they might lose them by winning. Besides, isn't that what the concept of using "spec" parts is supposed to accomplish?

(Even Wally liked the idea a few years ago).

HOW’S THAT AGAIN?

I hate the Countdown. It does limit the quality of reporting as far as I am concerned. I don't think fans are only interested in watching the players in the "reality show" countdown. I am still interested in teams that do not make the contrived "countdown". Stupid, stupid, stupid. I love drag racing, but watched less last season. Did I mention that I hate the Countdown?
