‘CHASING’ THEM TO IHRA?

Here are some other really good questions. What is to stop teams with no drivers in the final 8 from not attending any of the remaining events?? Save money save parts...etc?? Is a Wally really that valuable? Could this cost sponsors less money? They could charge one sponsorship for the "regular" season and a second amount for the chase. (If they make it.) How long before the IHRA starts to schedule the majority of their national events after the NHRA field is cut to 8? (And the early ones on the off weekends) Wouldn't they stand a chance at attracting more cars if they did this? (especially the Nitro classes)
My guess is the chase will ruin the NHRA if it continues beyond this season and it could be the biggest thing to happen to the IHRA if they play their cards right.

READY FOR OUR CLOSE-UP, MR. DEMILLE

Good answers. I think our TV share is small because of the way the shows are produced. Do we need to see a just completed run re-shown or a recap of the previous round?

I suggest the production crew start thinking out of the box. We’re not NASCAR. Put movable cameras on the concrete walls. Both sides on tracks that can move quickly to follow the cars with a split screen. Kinda like they use for speed skating at the Olympics. How ‘bout ground level cameras down the center of the track? I've seen it done for circle track with cars driving tires right over them (spring loaded to pop back up). How ‘bout ground level cameras right at the finish line, one in each lane? The in-car cameras they use right now do not capture it for me.

Then let’s talk about sound. It doesn’t sound like a fuel car on TV. Crank it. Let’s spend some time on getting the right sound/noise.

RIGHTSIZING

I watched the last two NHRA races (Seattle and Sonoma) and saw 16 total ads for NASCAR races during the telecast.  I watched the last two NASCAR races and saw "NO" ads for NHRA races.  Is it time to hire different media people at NHRA or what?

THE HORROR

I am all for Mike Dunn taking Scelzi's place in the Mopar, BUT!! Think of this if that happens: we may have to listen to two Paul Pages stumbling through a race.

THOSE CRAZY CANUCKS

Just watched the video of the STUPID PEOPLE CONVENTION, aka, The Canadian Truck Drag Race, How can anybody justify the sanity of that? The liability alone is overwhelming. Let alone all the people standing what appears to be less than 10 ft away from a speeding diesel truck w/a load of LOGS??? What will it take to stop this kind of stupidity for greed’s sake???
