Mike, I would like to know: 1. Is the 4L80 auto. trans able to convert to a full manual shift transmission? 2. If so....what about the lockup converter. I have one of these in my race car hauler and would like to convert it to full manual mode.  Tom Wurm, Denver, CO

The 4L80E transmission is computer controlled, it needs the computer to sequence the solenoids to shift through the gears.  There may be an aftermarket control box to change that.  You might search the web and see what might be offered.  I have not seen anything but I mainly work on racing transmissions, not computer controlled transmissions.
